Hi, I’m Ahmet Faruk Tuna, a builder, and lifelong starter.
I’ve spent my life launching ideas, helping others do the same, and finding meaning in the act of beginning.
My story with the web began in 1997, when I was just fourteen. I had just discovered Microsoft FrontPage and started building websites, printing small ads, and gluing them to street poles. Not long after, my site appeared among the top five results on Google Turkey for “web design,” or as we used to call it, “web dizayn.” By then I was creating websites for companies, and one of them even made it to national TV as the “Website of the Week.”
During my Finance studies at Marmara University, I launched a fashion brand called VICAHEN, designed for people who loved wearing black, just like me. I spent a year and a half in a textile company to learn the craft. When things didn’t go as planned with a business partner, I returned to what I loved most: building things on the internet.
Over the years I co-founded projects like eyje.com, asentence.com, and GiveUpInternet.com (still alive today). I also built Evza, a creative agency that went viral with campaigns covered in Hürriyet. That led me to Turkish Airlines, where I joined in 2013 and helped create Invest on Board, an inflight entrepreneurship platform still running today. I later became Corporate Innovation Manager, and in 2018 I launched İnovAnadolu, a movement for spreading innovation across Anatolia.
In 2020, I completed my PhD with a dissertation titled The Role of Motivation and Empowerment in the Relationship Between Innovation and Personality Types. In 2025, I became Manager of Ground Operations Risk at Turkish Airlines, while continuing to contribute to the Web3 and blockchain ecosystem as a builder and advisor.
Today, at forty, I find myself reflecting on what defines me. I’m not just my job title or degree. I’m the one who starts things.
I help people see their potential, connect ideas, and turn them into something real.
In different contexts, I show up as many versions of myself: Dr. Ahmet Faruk Tuna in academia, Faruk Tuna the entrepreneur, the anonymous meme-face in blockchain, and Edak at home with my family. And I’ve learned to embrace them all.
At this stage in life, I don’t seek a new title. I seek truth, depth, and creation.
I’m still that kid who gets excited about making something from nothing.
